Information FM Studio Link Radial connection
FM Studio Link Radio connection: Wireless quality and range up to 75 km
The FM Studio Link radio link is the professional solution for bridging large distances between the studio and the broadcasting location. For many broadcasters, the studio is located in a city center, while the transmitter and antenna are at a high point outside the city. Our radio links (STL - Studio Transmitter Links) offer an impressive range of up to 75 kilometers, giving you complete freedom in the placement of your equipment without sacrificing audio quality.
High reliability as an alternative to cables
These broadcast links are a complete and cost-effective alternative to traditional wired connections or expensive leased lines. It eliminates the need for complex infrastructures and provides a flexible, wireless connection that is directly in-house. Thanks to the high transfer speeds, the MPX or audio signal is transmitted without any noticeable delay (latency), which is crucial for live broadcasts.
- Large Range: Stable connections up to 75 km with a clear line of sight (Line of Sight).
- Broadcast Quality: Maintaining full dynamics and stereo separation of your audio signal.
- Low Latency: Real-time signal transmission without delay for a natural listening experience.
Suitable for temporary and permanent applications
The robust construction of our FM Studio Links makes them suitable for both permanent installations and temporary events. This includes fixed connections for local broadcasters or mobile setups during festivals and outdoor recordings on location. The equipment is designed to continue to provide a stable signal in all weather conditions.

Frequently asked questions about radio links (FAQ)
- Is a clear line of sight always necessary?
Yes, for radio links on these frequencies, a clear line of sight between the transmitting and receiving antenna is essential. Obstacles such as tall buildings or hills can significantly weaken or completely block the signal.
- Can I also send RDS data via a Studio Link? [Image showing the back panel of an STL receiver with MPX output]
Absolutely. When using an MPX radio link, the entire composite signal (including stereo pilot tone and RDS subcarrier) is transported from the studio to the transmitter without loss of quality.
- Do I need a permit for a radio link?
In many countries, the use of specific broadcast frequencies for radio links requires a permit from the national telecom authority (such as the RDI in the Netherlands). However, digital systems on license-free bands are also available for shorter distances.
